DESCRIPTION:The Daimler Powerhouse Transformations Programme is an exciting range of free special summer workshops\, supporting the creative development of young people aged 16-29\, learning everything from robotics to theatre and fashion. \nThis summer we’re offering an exciting range of free special summer workshops\, including the chance to make your combat robot\, get involved with theatre and performance\, and learn about careers in the fashion industry. \nIntroduction to Robotics\nEvery Wednesday\, 9th – 30th August\, 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm\nHosted by Russ Smith. Design and build your combat robot with help from designers from Arup. We start by teaching you how to use the 3D design package Shapr3d. With this powerful design tool\, you will create your robot’s body and systems. \nOnce you have completed your robot design\, you will be able to 3d print and build your own working robot during the sessions. Next\, you will learn the basics of robot control and how simple mechanisms work.
